No one ever talks about cranking their TV up to 11, but it's entirely possible with a capable add-on soundbar. Grab one for as much as 52% off.

It doesn’t matter what kind of TV you have, the integrated speakers are almost guaranteed to fall flat. But you don’t need a fancy receiver and seven speakers surrounding you to upgrade your home theater experience. A soundbar, perhaps paired with a subwoofer, can deliver all the surround sound you need to get everything you want from the audio of your shows, movies, and games. And there are plenty of deep discounts today during Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale.

Not a Prime member or hunting around for more deals? Walmart has its own "Prime Day" soundbar discounts today.

Few audio companies know sound as well as Sony. The simple-to-use HT-S400 includes Sony's S-Force PRO Front Surround and Dolby Digital surround sound option, all delivered by a 330W output 2.1 channel front speaker that’s wall-mountable, plus a wireless subwoofer for bass that can vibrate your insides. Connection is easy, especially if you have a Sony Bravia TV—it's all wireless. During Amazon’s fall Prime event, the HG-S400 is 41% off, going for $178(Opens in a new window) .

The best deal of the day in high-end soundbars looks to be the JBL Bar 5.1. Our review says there’s plenty to like, such as the powerful bass depth and crisp, clear highs in the sound. The former you can chalk up to a solid wireless subwoofer. Plus, this unit, normally going for close to $600, gets that 5.1 moniker not from having 5 speakers (the .1 is for the subwoofer) but for having one stellar speaker in the soundbar that can virtually mimic the feeling of 5 speakers in your ears, filling a room with immersive audio. The discount? It's more than half off at $288.95(Opens in a new window) .

We said the JBL was the best deal for the high-end, but what if you don’t want to spend nearly that much? The next best deal on a soundbar that was already affordable isn’t even at Amazon today. Walmart is getting in on the action, selling its own house brand at a major discount, including a sweet 51% off on its 30-inch soundbar. It delivers 120w of audio power and has Bluetooth so you can stream audio from other devices like your phone or tablet. There’s no separate subwoofer on this one, but it has some low-end built into the 2-channel speakers. You can’t deny the the unbeatable price of $29(Opens in a new window) .
