Android Apps & Games / Here's Everything That Was Announced At RazerCon 2022

It’s Razer’s big annual event today and the company announced a lot of new gear for RazerCon 2022. One of the most exciting was the Razer Edge – a 5G-powered gaming handheld designed for cloud gaming. But Razer announced a lot of other new stuff today as well. Including numerous new peripherals, a new gaming chair collaboration, new Quartz gear, some new streamer tools, and a new watch in partnership with Panerai. Razer even announced a new piece of software that will bring some life to your desktop. Let’s start with the software.

It’s called Axon and it’s essentially a curated collection of animated desktop wallpapers and static wallpapers. Where it gets cool is the Chroma integration. Razer says the wallpapers within the Axon app can react to the shifting colors of any other Chroma RGB devices you have connected to your PC. The reactions also happen in real-time and the app supports imported wallpapers too. So users can add their own if they wish.

Razer also partnered with numerous video game franchises to provide wallpapers based on specific games. And of course, there will be a collection of Razer-themed wallpapers too. Additionally, the company says Axon will support single and multi-monitor setups. Razer is also giving away a limited edition RazerCon 2022 wallpaper to the first 10,000 people who download the Axon app. You can grab it here.

Building on the success of the Hammerhead V2, the Razer Hammerhead HyperSpeed are an upgraded version that are meant to be multi-platform. They’re also available in both PlayStation and Xbox licensed models.

Interestingly though, the Xbox version doesn’t have the Xbox logo on the case, whereas the PlayStation version does have the PlayStation logo. Both cases do however match the colors of their respective consoles. This version of the Hammerhead true wireless still connects through Bluetooth but it also comes with a USB-C low-latency dongle which can be used with mobile devices and the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. They also get up to 30 hours of battery life with the included charging case. Additionally, they come with active noise cancellation and dual environmental noise cancelling microphones.

These go on sale in November starting at $149.99, and will be available directly from Razer.

There’s nothing changed here from the original versions of the Kaira series headsets when it comes to features or technology. However, these new versions are now officially licensed with PlayStation. So if you liked the Razer Kaira series headsets but wanted an officially PlayStation licensed headset, now you can have both.

Razer is launching a PlayStation Licensed Edition of all three Kaira models. Both the Kaira X and Kaira PlayStation Licensed Edition headsets will be available today for $59.99 and $129.99 respectively. The Pro model will be available in 2023 for $199.99.

The Razer Edge is Razer’s new 5G mobile gaming device. It’s not quite a phone, and not quite a tablet. But it does kind of look like both. It should be made clear though that it cannot operate as a phone. It is strictly for mobile and cloud gaming. The Edge is available in both WiFi-only and 5G models, and features a 144Hz 6.8-inch FHD+ touchscreen display, dual speakers, pre-installed apps for Xbox Game Pass, GeForce NOW, Steam Link and more. It also runs on Android 12 and can be used to locally store and play mobile games with the included 128GB of storage.

Razer is bundling the Edge with the new Kishi V2 Pro controller, which is essentially the same as the regular Kishi V2, but it comes with two new features. HyperSense haptics and a 3.5mm audio port. The Edge WiFi model will be available for $399 in January, with pre-order reservations available now.

Razer is back with a new version of these popular headphones, officially called the Kraken Kitty V2 Pro. There are a few notable differences here. But the main change is that the headphones now have three types of ears to connect. The kitty ears which have been made slightly more rounded at the tip than the previous version, as well as bear and bunny ears.

All three ears will also react to real-time stream events and are powered by Razer Chroma. The headphones will come in two colors – Black and Quartz. As for availability, you can pre-order them in Q4 starting at $199.99.

No, this isn’t the blue screen of death that all Windows users ultimately fear. Rather, it’s Razer’s new backdrop screen for streamers. It was designed to enhance your streams and allow you to create unique and exciting backdrops that are “seamless and immersive.” The backdrop material is wrinkle-free and the use of the blue color as opposed to Razer’s signature green allows for cleaner keying for streamers who want to change their backgrounds often.

Streamers can adjust the height of the backdrop up to 94-inches, too. Then easily collapse it back down to a manageable size that’s both easy to store and easily portable. Razer also designed it for a quick-deployable fast setup for those times you need to get things going in a hurry. The Razer Bluee Screen retails for $149.99 and is available now from Razer’s website as well as local Razer Store locations.

Auto enthusiasts on the hunt for a new gaming chair can look forward to the new Automobili Lamborghini Edition of the Razer Enki Pro. Though like the car it’s themed after, it has a high price tag. The Enki Pro arrives in December for $1,299 and features the same premium features as the original Enki Pro, like the Alcantara fabric, but with distinct orange Lamborghini styling.

Razer’s traditional Black is on everything it makes, but many of its fans enjoy the Quartz and Mercury colorways. Thankfully, Razer understands this and periodically releases existing devices in these two color options. Provided they aren’t already available. Today at RazerCon 2022 the company announced that it will be launching Quartz editions of numerous devices. Including the Barracuda, the Huntsman V2 TKL, the BlackShark V2 X, the Orochi V2, and the Strider in large. All of these will be available this month.

Razer will also be releasing a Mercury edition of the Barracuda, and White editions of the Deathstalker V2 Pro, Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL, and Basilisk V3 Pro. The Barracuda in Mercury will be available starting today while the other three devices will launch in November.

Rounding up Razer’s newly announced products at RazerCon 2022 is the Razer Special Edition of the Panerai Luminor Quaranta. Razer and Panerai have collaborated on watches before and this is the latest offering from the two companies. Like past Panerai x Razer collaborations, only so many of these watches will be made. 500 pieces to be exact. The watch comes with a 40mm case, and features signature Razer styling details. As well as accents of green on both the strap threads and one of the watch hands.

Additionally, the watch is made from recycled materials. The watch case is made from eSteel, which itself is made from recycled steel that’s been coated with a diamond like carbon coating. The strap meanwhile is made from recycled PET that was derived from post-consumer plastic bottles. The Panerai Luminor Quaranta Razer Special Edition will be available for sale exclusively on Panerai’s website and at select Panerai boutiques.
