So here you are ready to go to the gym, going to work or simply out for a walk and you can’t find your Beats. For those who enjoy listening to music or podcasts while doing different activities, this often causes a little panic and it’s not unusual to turn your house upside down while trying to locate your headphones.

It’s a tale as old as headphones are but, whether you’ve left them in a backpack or dropped them behind the couch, we’ve compiled a short list of all the different ways you can locate your Beats headphones. 

Before you have the chance to lose them, make sure your Beats headphones have been paired with your phone or tablet. 

This is very straightforward: all you have to do is press and hold the power button, wait for the LED light to light up and then open the Bluetooth settings on your device of choice and connect them. 

This one is pretty easy: all you have to do is open the Find My app, tap the Devices tab and then select the headphones you’re after. 

However, not all Beats headphones are compatible with Find My, just the ones that have Apple’s W1 or H1 chip. That list includes: Beats Studio 3 Wireless, Beats Solo Pro, Beats Solo 3 Wireless, Beats Flex, Powerbeats 4, Powerbeats Pro and BeatsX. 

The Find My app is very useful, however, the Beats must have previously been paired with your iPhone and the headphones must still have some battery left for the app to be able to find them. 

How To Find Your Lost Airpod(s)

Alternatively, you can find the headphones by using your iCloud account by typing icloud.com/find in your browser. Sign in as usual, choose All Devices and then select your headphones. 

If your Beats are online, the map will show their location. Additionally, you can choose Play Sound if they are within your house or the area you’re in, to be able to locate them more easily. 

If the headphones are offline however, a Sound Pending text will be flashing until they connect to a network. Once that happens, your phone will send you a notification and a sound will start playing from the Beats. 

If all else fails, you will need to find the serial number of the headphones and contact Apple Support who can help you locate them. Most of these serial numbers can be found either on the original box or on the receipt; you will know which one you’re looking for if you see a series of numbers and letters starting with “S/N”.

The Beats headphones are known for their Bluetooth connectivity which allows the users to listen to their music uninterrupted, even if the device is not close to them. 

Powerbeats for example, have a Bluetooth connection from 2 to 30 feet, which is pretty impressive. It’s this feature that will really come in handy if you’re trying to locate your headphones. All you have to do is download a Bluetooth scanning app and let it do the work for you.

First thing, download the app from the App Store, Google Play or the Microsoft Store. Then find the list for active Bluetooth devices and keep moving around the area you’re in to detect the signal. 

Once your headphones pop up on that list, have a good look at the signal strength. All you have to do is keep moving in the direction where the signal is strongest and start searching. 

The answer to this question is both yes and no. More specifically, Apple will replace them, but it will come at a cost. The price tag will be lower than what you originally paid for your previous headphones but you have to keep in mind that this service does not include all Beats models. 

To give you an example, the Powerbeats Pro charging case will cost around $99 to replace while the Beats Studio Buds $79, that is excluding tax, shipping and handling fees. If you lost just one, it can be a good idea to buy a new pair on Amazon in order to have a spare. You can find a full list with more information on the Apple Support page. 

Hopefully these tips have helped you locate your lost Beats headphones but if you didn’t manage to, we hope that you managed to get them replaced nonetheless.
